Hi all

Lets hope that finding RTR in different forms means that it is the end of the 1.4 version and that BB is hard at work with 1.5 as I do have a 1.5 beta kicking around. Also all those new models that captPDK did can surely not be left on the shelf as there is still lots of users that still mess with RTR it is not dying with lack of user interest. But it is a shame that BB don’t say out.

Greetings,

I love your optimism, austindave, something the world could use a big dose of right now. I was really hoping to see CaptPDK’s models in RtR. It would be a shame to lose those and the benefits of his eye-popping talent.

I find it a little unusual that Willie stopped posting here at the same time brainbom did. Has anyone heard from Willie? I can’t be sure, but I don’t think he has posted on his own site for a while.

I know this. I tell my clients before we go live with their web site, that publishing a web site is like opening the doors to your shop, library, museum, photo gallery, etc., and that you then have to run your web site and maintain a presence. They can do it themselves or they can hire somebody (me, hence the speech, but still the truth). You would not walk out of your business and abandon your customers and members in the real world. Especially when you host a forum.

But who knows what is going on… which is exactly my point. It can certainly be argued that whatever is happening or not happening is none of our business. But by the work I’ve seen done, contributed, offered, suggested, brain-stormed by contributors on this site, and the enthusiastic cooperation I saw happening, it would be a tough argument to make. Which is why I find it very curious that there have been no posts from brainbom since last February. I’m still leaning toward the Mothership theory.

As I said, your optimism is great, austindave. I would hate to lose this forum. It’s rare that you find one as intimate as this nowadays. This place is like a warm pub on a stormy night, a bunch of guys and gals sitting around a crackeling woodburning stove, talking and imagining late into the night about building model railroads and ruling the rails. In other words, you never see ***** or **** ***, and this is a rare gem indeed.

Anyway, unless we are purposely being left in the dark until the big reveal of Version 1.5 (and if that is true, then it had better be a good one), a cough, a hiccup, a fart, maybe even a short post would probably give a lot of people something to look forward to. “Earth to Mothership… come in Mothership…”
