|

Hi,
we plan to add more American (typical in the USA) objects. Commercial/industrial/residential/railroad-related buildings, engines, carriages, wagons and misc. objects.
We have received already very good pictures and ideas from Chris (thank you again!), but if you have pictures or links you could recommend us we would be happy to see them, just to gather as much material as possible.
Thank you for all suggestions in advance.

What a thought, an overdue Amtrak pulling into Frankfurt. I'm afraid our German friends would find that most unacceptable.
Best regards, Chris |

Sorry chris,
i wanted not to joke to much, but i will try to build a american Village with all tracks and roads and all objects we will get. You have to know,in the time i worked in area around frankfurt, many american villages were here and look like as in US. I spoke with many american peoples there. They also wanted to see a model-amtrak in frankfurt in tracewitdh I or II and not a real train. Chris,i think these objects will be nice for new layouts.
Sorry again and thanx for your suggestions. _________________ for next time and thanx Peter

Hi Brainbom,
It's nice to hear that you plan to add American objects. I'm a fan of American railroads, too, especially of the Santa Fe and own hundreds of ATSF models in N-scale. So I hope we will see a lot of Santa Fe rolling stock
But please don't forget European rolling stock - as you can guess I would like to see a lot of Swiss rolling stock What about a nice Krokodil?
And I still hope that you plan for the future that the user can build his own objects and share them with other users as I have written in the wish list.
Regards,
Willi _________________ Have Fun with Rule The Rail on Leopold's Hobby Page! |

Hi Peter,
I'd be happy to help you. We have quite a varied terrain so you would have great latitude in adding terrain features. You may want to model a couple in one layout passing between them through tunneling, etc.
Urban areas can vary widely as well depending on the region of the country.

if this means more of the kinds of houses in i.h. becoming available in rtr that would be great. it is true there are some deficiences of american freight stock. specificly pig/container flats of 8 wheel/ double boggie style. those and centerflow grain loading and cement covered hopper cars, and covered hoppers in general. also perhapse not so much but mechanical refrigerator cars also.
as for amtrak, slaping amtrack logos on those atsf silversiders would is sufficient for 'heritage fleet' although the now conventional double deckers on amtrak's long distance trains are i suppose needed by those who want them. and one or more of the uniquely amtrak locos.
but i live in america and i like better what i see of japanese m.u. trains, at least as far as passinger service goes.
what i'd really like to see, beyond the japanese kidoshas and denshas, what i've been curious about the lack of, are more modern sorts of european freight/goods stock. specificly the 'american like' 8 wheel cars, again open and covered hoppers, and those lovely sliding wall box and convertable roof cars, and again 8-wheel 'pigflats' (i.e. tofc/cofc cars)
a curved highlevel platform to match the curves.
i've been using the wearhous and hiding it inside the stations for an approach to them from the street side so i can elevate them to platform level to match that one platform that has a floor that can be elevated to coach floor level.
(and using the shape for the dumpster bin retextured with brich as supports for the platform)
of course LOW FLOOR passinger stock would eliminate the need for this.
modern low floor m.u. stock. something we don't have much of in america other then we're starting to get some trolleys ('light rail') built that way.
back to arcitecture; SMALLER personal houses without garages then those currently available in rtr are sorely missed at present. most american houses, at least where i've lived, tend to be SINGLE story. or at most 'split level'

Hi Brainbom,
I thought I'd paste the Fallen Flags website url here. I'm not sure whether I had provided it before or not. It is a vast resource for North American rail fans.

Hi chris,
I´d seen this photos on your posted link,i hope the brainbombers still working on them. If want to begin my project then i´ll need all stock as rolling as standing stock from northern america. Hi Brinbom the american villagers in Frankfurt/Main maybe want to see it on RTR to planning their layout, before they build a real board. _________________ for next time and thanx Peter
