Voodoo?... I think it will not support a few effects which we use to draw the terrain...

I have had that strange problem with the terrain as well but it seems to go away eventually.

Brainbom,

Here's the initial effort on a new version of my protocoal that has been saved just before the detach error occurs. You'll notice that the detach control is already open as the train backs over it, stops with the second diesel over the control, then pulls forward exposing the coupler between the diesel and the first ore car. More often than not, the uncoupling doesn't occur until the first and second ore car are over the control.

Try rotating the second diesel so that it's facing to the rear. I found that the detach errors were greatly reduced after that.

Regards, Chris

Brainbom,

Here's the continuation of coal08, coal07. Outside of the fact that the layout has progressed to the point that it can now run in a continuous loop, the only significant change was rotating the second diesel 180 degrees. I've been running this layout and have not experienced uncoupling errors as I had in coal08.

My initial conclusion from this is that the anomaly is related to coupling at the rear of the diesel. Hope that helps.

Regards, Chris

Could this be related to the distance between the part of the loco that triggers the control and the rear/front (i.e. coupler) of the loco?
I don't know if it's the center of the loco that determines its location:

<--------+-------->

Or if this point is offset:

<------------+---->

If it's offset then turning the loco would make a difference.

Governor,

The detach control is never turned 'off' after its initial activation to separate the ore train into two ten car units. After the track has been cleared, the two diesels and remaining ten cars reverse over the 'on' detach control to separate the remaining cars. The diesels back until the control is under a portion of the trailing diesel. The diesels stop for five seconds, then reverse direction over the 'on' detach control to uncouple from the ore cars.

As you can see, there is no need to trigger the control again.

Thanks for taking a look at this problem.

Regards, Chris
