Is Rule the Rail! free? Yes, one part of it: the Free Starter Kit. It is free. Extension Packs are plus objects, wagons and engines for the game, and you can only use them if you have already registered Rule the Rail!. Are Extension Packs free? All extension packs are free for registered users. Once you register, the password will get you EXTRA 3 GAMES as well! Why can't my browser find the registration site? To ensure data security, the registration webiste uses the SSL 3.0 algorithm. If this is not set in your browser, you won't be able to reach the website. To switch it on in Internet Explorer: go to Tools / Internet Options / Advanced, scroll to the Security section, and make the change to SSL 3.0. My password does not seem to work. What to do now? The password will be accepted only if at least extension pack 1 is installed already. Install extension pack 1 and try to use your password again.

What gives? The program needs DirectX 8 (or later) runtime to be on your machine. You can download it from here: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/directx/default.aspx Whichever resolution I choose, the program won't start. Why on Earth? The game needs a 3D Video Card (see System Requirements above) and you probably do not have one. Does the game run on Windows XP? Yessss. It's been thoroughly tested in this environment. If the program still refuses to run, there are other reasons - see above.
