InactiveI have the same problem, but I don’t know the solution yet… March 29, 2006 at 10:30 pm #389Anonymous
InactiveI use about five different phpBB forums (and have one of my own) and your problem happens to me on one or two of the others, not this one though. I haven’t gone into it too deeply but I’m assuming it’s a cookie permission thing.
It may be worth deleting the appropriate cookie and re-logging in again. Also check that your browser is set to accept cookies in the first place.

InactiveCookies are enabled in my browser, first I thought it is connected somehow with cleaning the cookies, but now I am not sure already… March 30, 2006 at 11:58 pm #391Anonymous
InactiveI’ve had to go through the profile page and resubmit (or log in twice as mentioned earlier) to be recognized. I’ve gone the profile page route because I noticed that the graphical indications of new posts was set to none when logging in twice.

InactiveI noticed that if you log in using the “Login to view private messages” link/button it does not suffer from the login in twice problem. Therefore it does not reset the new messages count/list to none. It does require you to click on the “–Rule the Rail–Forum->” link at the top of the page to get to the forums, but that is much better than having the new messages list reset. InactiveHi, I have this problem, too, having to log in each day and to log in twice. It’s the only forum where I have this problem.
Is there really no solution?
Kind regards,
Willi

InactiveWilli, I think it has something to do with cookie settings on your machine. I don’t know what I did following a rebuild of this machine but I know longer suffer from the problem – indicates a client side issue though.

InactiveHi Chris, A little late but thanks for your reply. I have tried different kind of cookies settings. But it doesn’t help and slowly but surely it gets on my nerves (what is not your fault, of course
)
As I wrote, this is the only forum I have these problems.
Look like I have to live with it
😥 Regards,
Willi
