Sorry to the dial-up folks. The first image is pretty large so I could show all the objects

I’ve modeled so far, so those with slow connection speeds – give it a minute, you’ll

    want to see this.

This will be my last upload for a week or two but I have downloaded many photos of

    brownstone buildings and row-homes, downtown office buildings and retail store fronts;

going to make a log cabin for those mountain scenes, a few more rail yard support

items and some more construction equipment.

By the time I get back on line I should have the 100 ID numbers given to me by BB, filled.

OOPS! Missing the ranch style home. It’s in there, just not in this image.

Notice the addition of the traffic lights. I tried to animate them but the only way I could do

it was by animating the texture of the lights; DirectX does not support this type of animation.

The traffic wouldn’t move anyway so … and yes, they’ll be back-wards for those of you who

drive on the wrong side of the road 😉 . Notice also the two sections of inclined road and

an inclined sidewalk (behind the water tower). I may incline all four main road sections.

Some of this stuff was modeled two years ago and may be redundant to what’s already

included in RtR. The horses are a different breed; Appaloosas, and they come in two herds.

They’re also re-colorable. The power lines are also a little different. the poles are shorter

and there is “droop” in the lines – more rural.

The dirt road crossing was made 2 years ago but matches the dirt road in the ground

textures. (I did that 2 years ago, too!)

    Hi Paul and Dave,

My mouth is dripping wet for these objects. :D I hope we all get a build soon. :P

… had a few extra minutes SatCom time for the day and thought I’d post images of these two “down-town”

buildings. Figured out a cool way to give the retail shop an interior without a lot of complex modeling. Still

working on windows and such on the brownstone; scale is a little off, too but that’s easy to correct.

I should reach a stopping point soon, then it’s up to BBs to get it out.

    😉

    Later, Paul

    Hi All

I’m working on a layout with a “public transit” theme. Wouldn’t be complete without a city bus.

Yes the windows are tinted and transparent, but except for the driver the interior is an illusion.

    Ok every one,

A lot have been talking about this, Willie wants invisible track but I don’t see that its necessary.

Think of the possibilities; this is a trick you can do with any object in RtR and you don’t need a

copy protection utility, just edit the existing xli file!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

… except any shadow (and in this case the tinted windows) for a field object goes away

when the object is used as an engine.

    Paul

click the thumbnail, (sorry for the low resolution video)!!!!

    Hi Paul,

You´d hide the tracks with your streetelements, right?

The invisible tracks should be for planes and helicopters only.(Willi sas it so)

For the streets in the city,we´ll need smaller radies to can courve a streetcross. That video looks right. :) :)

The xli´s i´d edit for F3-B-units or other wagons already. 8)
