I wonder how long this website and forum will stay alive. The site is not being tended to at all, and because no new members have posted to this forum in like… forever, I don’t think online sales have been very brisk. There is no advertising revenue and somebody has to pay the server fees…

One day we all may just blink out of existence.

    Hi Peter

Your absolutely right! I really enjoy this forum (when its active), and the

folks that I have met here. Iwill most likely keep checking and posting untill

it goes away. I’m still hoping for good news from BB, but who knows?

    Hi All

Thanks Robear I mist where everybody posted before i to found the link up on willi’s forum page Little slow getting back been sick took some med fell asleep I’m awake now for how long who knows I was walking around web looking to see if there is another forum or message board out there for the other name programs i have not found one yet. that a sham since we have the same program and the name is different . and here on this forum we have a lot friends with knowledge idea’s and help .came up with a idea if we could all join together to enjoy this program together swap idea’s and help each other out don’t know if they have any knowledge of this forum or not if so that would be great if not it would be cool if they did that would make this forum and the program grow stronger for all hope this is a positive way to look at it hate to think that all would be lost but would to think it would be a new beginning for all 8)

one thing to remember is the program has been on CD for sometime now so that’s a plus we are still here and I guess that means more fun for now

It’s up to the higher powers now tolet us know what’s going on now :)

    Hi all

Lets hope that finding RTR in different forms means that it is the end of the 1.4 version and that BB is hard at work with 1.5 as I do have a 1.5 beta kicking around. Also all those new models that captPDK did can surely not be left on the shelf as there is still lots of users that still mess with RTR it is not dying with lack of user interest. But it is a shame that BB don’t say out.

    Hi Dave,

I hope CaptPDK will help us creating our own stuff as objects and trains.

Then we´ll have a RTR(“Cyomr” or “MB2008”) nobody can buy in market.

How about this idea? I can continue the e-train theme to the end and let captPDK process the xli file. And if this complete then i´ll drop an e-mail to all hardcore users of RTR. 😉 💡

I´m not doing this on my server!!!

    Greetings,

I love your optimism, austindave, something the world could use a big dose of right now. I was really hoping to see CaptPDK’s models in RtR. It would be a shame to lose those and the benefits of his eye-popping talent.

I find it a little unusual that Willie stopped posting here at the same time brainbom did. Has anyone heard from Willie? I can’t be sure, but I don’t think he has posted on his own site for a while.

I know this. I tell my clients before we go live with their web site, that publishing a web site is like opening the doors to your shop, library, museum, photo gallery, etc., and that you then have to run your web site and maintain a presence. They can do it themselves or they can hire somebody (me, hence the speech, but still the truth). You would not walk out of your business and abandon your customers and members in the real world. Especially when you host a forum.

But who knows what is going on… which is exactly my point. It can certainly be argued that whatever is happening or not happening is none of our business. But by the work I’ve seen done, contributed, offered, suggested, brain-stormed by contributors on this site, and the enthusiastic cooperation I saw happening, it would be a tough argument to make. Which is why I find it very curious that there have been no posts from brainbom since last February. I’m still leaning toward the Mothership theory.

As I said, your optimism is great, austindave. I would hate to lose this forum. It’s rare that you find one as intimate as this nowadays. This place is like a warm pub on a stormy night, a bunch of guys and gals sitting around a crackeling woodburning stove, talking and imagining late into the night about building model railroads and ruling the rails. In other words, you never see ***** or **** ***, and this is a rare gem indeed.

Anyway, unless we are purposely being left in the dark until the big reveal of Version 1.5 (and if that is true, then it had better be a good one), a cough, a hiccup, a fart, maybe even a short post would probably give a lot of people something to look forward to. “Earth to Mothership… come in Mothership…”

    Hi RoBear,

I´m a moderator in Willi´s Forum and also wait for a sign from Willi over 8 month, but to now ….. nothing from Willi. But i can cotinue the contact to CptPDK. I´ll ask him as i spoke about my idea in the post before this.

I hope i can win him for the project.

I for one think that whatever is going on, the silence is most likely

corporate driven. In other words… an NDA!! (Non-Disclosure Agreement)

If they have tied into another company for a future product, it may well be the other company that is demanding the silence.

And if Willi has gone silent too, then maybe his code will be included into the new software.

Of course this is all wild speculation and is most likely just a load of bulls**t.

    Hi All

Im no expert on this matter, in fact, you could say I know jack shit!

( I just talked to him last night. We had a few beers and played cribbage.

But thats another matter all together.) But I’ll bet Ya Skate has hit it

right on the money. That really makes a whole lot of sense. CaptPDK,

who’s code also figures big in the program, has not been heard from either.

When you add it all up it sure smells like Lawyers! Anyhow, I do hope

that something good is on the way. It’s still possible!

    still hopeing….

    Hi All,

Now I must admit I do not know much about this site or how it works but are there no moderators for this site that can throw a bit of light on the well being of this forum.

As it has been suggested that it may just disappear in to the blue yonder.

If it dos just stop working do we stick together, and how?

It would be a great pity if it all folded up for one thing I am not to good at re painting the wagons and if this forum stops who do I ask then.

    :( :( :(

I would just like to say I have enjoyed the forum as much as the program RTR, oh well back to my cell.

    Hay everyone!

I’m still around! My disappearance was due largely to my work and being stuck working from a port in southern Louisiana with no way to get on the Internet. Work slows this time of year because of hurricane season so I’ll be on land for a few months with much more reliable communications. I just got set up in a little appartment this past week and had my DSL turned on day before yesterday. I just logged in for the first time last night.

I’m as much in the dark as the rest of you folks. I was aware of the attempt to create a CD based program that could be sold in stores but was told in confidence. As of this last spring I was told that the CD version wasn’t going as well as anticipated, but was the software rights sold? … or it it just being distributed by this other company?

    That’s all I know!

I’m just finding all this out. Whether or not they used uploaded layouts and other content submitted by users I don’t know. Anything I previously contributed, I did so giving BB full rights to the content, but I haven’t handed over EVERYTHING I created.

If BB has abandoned the web version of this software and has sold only the rights to the content on the CD then maybe we could start our own community and open up the gates for object sharing.

I have an e-mail contact to one of the BB team. Let me make contact and see what I can find out.

    Paul

EDIT: The registry link still works. This probably means that BB did NOT sell the rights to the web version, that their marketing strategy is still in effect for this software and that all copyrights are still in affect. This would probably mean that object sharing would still violate BB’s copyrights and distribution rights. They can abandon support and further development for the software and continue to hold the copyright.

If this is the case any mods or content sharing would have to be done with their permission.

    Hi Paul,

    I see it.

If you got effect from you mail to brainbom then tell us what and how, please.

I´ll also continue to contact the team BB to get an effect. See what BB´s answer. Good idea to open up a community our own to share newer projects. 💡

Reg,do not resign. May be we´re able to continue this forum, but on a other platform,if it´s ending here.

    Hi Paul

Good to hear from You again. I was beginning to think Your boat sank!

    Glad You’re still with us!!

    Hi All

I’m takeing Capn’ Pauls posting as a good sign! If the registry link (what ever that is) still works,

and BB is still out there and has not been abducted by alliens, maybe there is hope after all.

Let’s not ring the death knell for the forum just yet. In the event that the forum does collapse, however,we

could resort to an ancient technology to stay in touch. Yes, thats right….E-Mail!!!

    Still Hopeing….

    Hi Mark,

Then let us begin collect the e-mail adresses of the hardcore RTRusers.

But i dont think the forum will collapse soon. But do it for sure if this forum ends.
