I have a card with navarda 9200 or something 256 mb memory, do you think this is worth up dating.

It seems ok but as the program is growing in size.

It slows down if i use a very big track plan.

Or lots of houses and buildings.

What have you and how good is it?

    Hi Reg,

How many %s resources are you using in RTR to create a layout? and how many mainram are you using in your machine? I ask because,if you have more than 1 gig main ram for layouts with high %s,that graca will slow down to ca 70 … 60 %. Thats is a question how fast the system can program the gpu from the graca and how fast is the copieing of graphicinfo from mainram to the v-ram. With your graca the Fps will bee acceptable to see it. 😉

    Hi Reg,

I´ve seen your config, and think you use a 32 bit machine with barthon and 1 gig ram. Your Amd is faster as my,what graca-interface are you using, agp or pcie? I ask becuse your type of graca is a xenomorph can be used as Agp as PCIe card if i readed it right.

My computer has the same windows and sp2,running on a asrock k7s8x with AMD 2400+(2.0 GHz) and 1.7 gig ram,AGP gforce FX5200 with 128 MB vram.

If i have many houses on layout then graca only slowdown ca 5 %. But i have many trees then i lost over 20 % from speed. You may see the %age of the resources used in object menu and terrain menu (all bottom) add all 2 %age. If you over 200 % your graca will lost ca 20% from speed.

If you have 60 fps before, then after you will have bitween 25 to 38 fps on your card. If your card has more than 70 fps normal then you can see trains running with ca 45 to 55 fps on your screen.

    Hello Peter,

Now I know what that % was all about, thanks for help.

You may see the %age of the resources used in object menu and terrain menu (all bottom) add all 2 %age. If you over 200 % your graca will lost ca 20% from speed.

I use a flat 17inch screen if any help to you.

I think it will be fast for me at the time but if I put any large plans on I may be in trouble.

    Hi Reg,

I´d also find out a fact about RTR,and graca.

If you edit anything and zoom the teerain to nearest distance the editing of objects will be faster because the machine will recalculting a small area only and copy the rest to main ram to hold. I hope this will a part to help.

I´m self using a tube monitor 15 inch and my cousin use a 17 inch flat.

We haven´t a differece on FPS. I think the weakst point an that pc´s are the internal interfaces (too many interrups and too few bandwidth.
