Hi Willi,

That’s a great addition to the game. Could they also act as retaining walls?

Thanks for all your hard work. the switch towers look really nice, too.

    Regards, Chris

    Hi,

Thanks. Yes that is something I was missing since long.

@ Chris: As I wrote, more abutments and retaining walls will come. I will create them as stone walls and concrete walls. And viaducts are planned as well. 😉

    Best regards,

    Willi

    Hi,

The second model in this serie is finished, a bridge-head. Constructed the same way like the pier, so it’s almost buried in the ground, when you place it. Additionaly, the model origin isn’t in the middle but at the front, so the bridge-head can be suited to almost any landscape. And now the retaining walls will follow.

    Kind regards,

    Willi

    Hello Willi,

With this it makes sense to plan water in the layout! Very nice job.

    Hi,

Thanks for your kind word. The stone retaining walls are finished, too. Here the model origin had to be put even more in front of the model and they are built deeper than in reality so you can suit them to the landscape.

Now the concrete variations of the abutments and retaining walls will follow – and the static turntable.

    Kind regards,

    Willi

    Hi,

The concrete abutments are also finished. In the front row you see how the elements look when you place them on the layout. In the middle they are lifted a little. And in the background you see the maximum height. Of course the objects can also be coloured.

    Kind regards,

    Hi,

The concrete retaining walls are finished, too. In the first two rows you see how the elements look when you place them on the layout. In the background they are lifted about half height and a little bit coloured.

    Hi Willi,

I was thinking a more gentle slope to the retaining wall and possibly a greater thickness to it could make those retaining walls into a roll on-roll off intermodal terminal of a sort.

    Great stuff, Willi!

    Best regards, Chris

I´d see it in Willi´s forum and say Great !!

I´d order two boxes full of them befor i see it.

Chris, It´s a good idea use it as RoRo unit. But we must have it first. 😉

Im sure Willi that your guide is excellent. You know though sometimes when you look at something and think – mmm.Well i did.

To hard for me.I did try.Reminds me of peoples faces when you start talking about building compters like i do.They go blank. 😯

I will leave building to the experts, but thanks anyway.

Wont stop me building my model tanks though. At least i can do that quite well,

    later.

    Hi,

The turntable is finished! :) Because of the restrictions of RTR I had to do some compromises. The first and most important is already known to you: It’s a static turntable. But at least you can drive over it. Then I had to build the turntable quite small, but it’s long enough for all locomotives that are in RTR until now. And to integrate the turntable in the layout isn’t so easy, I will come back on that later.

Here’s a picture of the finished turntable. Now a roundhouse, matching the 22,5° tracks, a coaling tower, a water tower, a sanding tower… are missing. Hmmm, I see, my life won’t be boring next time. 😆

    Kind regards,

    Willi

P.S. I have just written instructions how to build the turntable in the layout. You find it here: http://www.wleopold.ch/n_forum/viewthread.php?boardid=19&thid=356” class=”bbcode_url”>http://www.wleopold.ch/n_forum/viewthread.php?boardid=19&thid=356
